Katie's Announcement

We are having a baby BOY!!!  We had our 20 week anatomy scan today and, thank God, everything looks healthy so far. Katie got to see the  baby and waved at it. She is super excited about having a brother!  Now I just need advice on what to do with a boy :)

Park Fun!

We found a great new park today. Our friends Heather and Gabriel told us about it and we all went. There were lots of fun sprinklers and an 18 inch kiddie pool. The kids had a blast!!!

New Camera

I finally got a new camera. After much research done by my sweet husband, we decided to get a Cannon and we really like it!  It makes a difference with the pics we take without any help from the photographer...me:)

Happy 4th!!!

We celebrated the 4th of July by having "a picnic day", as Katie calls it,  at one of our favorite parks here in NYC.  We had a blast eating sandwiches and juicy watermelon and then playing!  Katie looked like the All American Girl in her seersucker dress and star hat, made by Nana.  It was a great day to spend time with family and goof off, as you can see in some of the pictures.  :)

Katie's first performance

Today was Katie's first introduction, to what I am sure, will be many more performances through out her life.  Her preschool had an end of the year celebration. She was not sure about the costume and hundreds of eyes watching her at first, but she finally got into the singing and dancing. We are, of course, super proud of her and wanted to share a few pics with you!

Exciting News!

We are very excited to announce that we are expecting another sweet Richter baby.  I am about 4 months and the baby is due on December 10.  So far everything looks good and we are super excited. 

Katie, on the other hand, is denying all of this. When we ask her if she knows there is a baby in mommy's tummy she just laughs and says "NO!"  We will see how that progresses.  Please pray for us and that the baby is healthy!

Circus

We took Katie to the circus this week. She really enjoyed the clowns, ponies and the lady on the trapeze.  We had great seats so she could see everything close up.  She also had a blast "walking like a dinosaur" before hand with her dad! 

Little Girl

Our baby no longer looks like a baby.  She now looks and acts like a little girl.  We are so proud as we watch her grow but a little part of me is sad to see her growing so fast.

Crazy NYC weather

We have had some interesting weather lately. One day it was beautiful and sunny enough to enjoy the park with ice cream and the next we were able to break back out our snowman shirt and play in the snow...in March!

TWO!

Our sweet Katie turned 2 last week.  We are so proud of her and the little girl she is becoming. We personally (like all parents) think she is a genius:)  She can sing a variety of songs, can count to 20, excluding 15, and have hysterical conversations with us.  Tom is especially proud because she is telling her own version of jokes, such as "The ball went to kitchen and get snack." She then laughs at herself and her little joke.  She will say it over and over!  She is such fun and we love spending time with her!

Snow Day!

Today we got the gift of a snow day! It is only the 9th time since 1978 that NYC schools have been closed and we have gotten A LOT of snow lately!  In Queens, we got about 19 inches of snow last night...that is on top of the other 20 inches we had this month. We went out this afternoon to "help" dad dig out the car.  Here are some pictures.

 

Christmas

The old saying "It is better to give than receive" rang true for us this year!  It was AMAZING having Christmas with an almost 2 year old who understands presents, Santa and Baby Jesus. We had a great time with Katie this Christmas.  We left a note, cookies and milk (in a sippy cup :)) for Santa, food for the reindeer and waited patiently to see if he would come...and boy did he come.  Santa came to see Katie in NYC, in Kentucky and in Alabama.  Now Katie often looks out the window and asks "Where's Santa?"  We also taught her about Baby Jesus and Mary and Joseph, so now every baby in pictures is Baby Jesus.
